This November, Living Sustainably Along the Lakeshore joins the Big Read Lakeshore to discuss the themes introduced in In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick. In the Heart of the Sea recounts the unsustainable nature of Nantucket’s whaling industry. Today, we try to offset unsustainable practices by considering products’ long-term limitations and by recycling. To create a more sustainable Michigan, join us for virtual presentations on recycling practices in Michigan and the city of Holland’s new recycling system. At 7:30, “Stump the Chumps” by asking your hardest questions about what you can recycle and how to do it!
