For the fourth year in a row, the Macatawa Water Festival, presented by Meijer, will be held on Holland’s Windmill Island. Over 30 community partners and sponsors will come together to offer water activities and educational experiences designed to engage all ages in learning about restoring and preserving our lake and watershed.

You will be able to kayak or bike around the island while exploring and learning about the great outdoors. Other activities include trout fishing (under 17 yrs old), learning about native and invasive plants, performing water quality experiments, playing fun water games, and learning about water filtration and pollutants.

There will be two rain barrel workshops and a wood duck nest box workshop held in the picnic pavilion. The cost to participate in each of the workshops is $10 and pre-registration is required. Contact the Outdoor Discovery Center Macatawa Greenway at 616-393-9453 to register.

Meijer will provide seasonal fresh fruit from local farmers and water will be provided in abundance!
