On February 28th, Project Clarity will hold its fifth annual Agriculture Luncheon for the local farm community. Participants will learn about agricultural projects and activities to reduce sediment and phosphorous in the Macatawa Watershed. We will also discuss engineered solutions planned for 2019.
This year’s event will feature a panel of local farmers who have worked with Project Clarity to implement best management practices. Farmers will discuss why they implemented these practices, difficulties they’ve overcome or are working through, and lessons learned. The panel will include recent and long-time adopters of practices such as no-till farming, cover crops and grassed waterways. The discussion will be led by Rob Vink, Agricultural Technician at the MACC, who has been working closely with farmers over the past three years to implement these projects.
