Macatawa Area Express Transit (MAX) is the public transportation system for the greater Holland area. Formed in January 2000 as an outgrowth of the City of Holland’s Dial-A-Ride program, MAX is funded with federal and state grants, contributions from the Cities of Holland and Zeeland and Holland Township and passenger fares.
Annually, MAX safely transports more than 470,000 passengers to their destinations in the local Holland and Zeeland area.
MAX is operated by the City of Holland, which owns and maintains the bus fleet, equipment and transit facilities. The City of Holland provides transit service to neighboring Holland Charter Township and the City of Zeeland under service contractual agreements.
